Pros

Since Courtyard is considered to be a business hotel, a lot of the guests during the week or regulars and you will get to know them and their personal preferences on room number/type. The guests and associates are very nice! I truly believe that everyone wanted each department to strive at their job. Everyone was always willing to help each other. This hotel is definitely the cleanest hotel in the area and cares about their guests!

Cons

The pay for a Front Desk Agent is only about $9/hour and on weekdays (unless there were a high number of check ins), there was only one agent so you spent the whole shift basically by yourself. Unless you had another agent working with you, you didn't have a chance to get a 30 minute break because no one else was around to watch the desk. Also, because Jacksonville is a military area. I was told that's the reason why the hotel doesn't offer any benefits.

Pros

The guests were always lovely, and made the job fulfilling.

Cons

Management was awful, no support from them. Favoritism, enabling one person something but not the other. No structure; expectations and rules change by the day. Upper management turns a blind eye to misconduct and abuse of all forms. No loyalty from the company to its employees. Wage theft, illegal time clock adjustments, sexual harrassment from superiors, hostile work environment, all condoned by upper management.
