Pros

The benefits are very good. An extremely strong balance sheet provides stability. Some very good front line employees.

Cons

As long as you are the CEO's buddy and especially if you work in underwriting then you're golden - even if you are not very good at your job. Most of the executive and senior management team members are not leaders and are not capable of successfully moving the company into the future. Politics and posturing is all they can do.....in addition to drinking a lot. Several talented people have left or been forced out of this company in the past few years.

Pros

Really wonderful people trying hard to make a go in an environment that is not conducive to work. People want to do well here and they try really hard.

Cons

Cubicles are made out of cardboard. There is no noise cancellation. You can hear people breathe. 80 mile radius is the bar for having to come in the office. Unrealistic. When you don’t pay well, you can’t afford to live close. Executives don’t remember where they came from. If they walked around and saw the conditions, we sit in and really looked. They would know. It takes 6 to 10 years to get a promotion. Promotions are not based on merit. They are based on favoritism. There are managers who have senior underwriters with less experience making $30,000 more than them. HR is silent. Note to Glassdoor Gregg HANSON is not the current CEO
