Pros

You can get 40+ hours a week (if you are willing to sell your soul). The schedule can be flexible, but be careful, as they like to retract statements or offerings. Making a difference in the life of individuals with disabilities. Decent Health Insurance for a single person. Not financially sustainable for a family.

Cons

Management is inconsistent. They play favorites. VERY high turnover rate. Management does not enforce policies (except when they want to get rid of someone); accountability is not consistent. The pay rate is low for the workload expected (especially when you pick up slack from your coworkers. CSF's do not deal with poor/mismanaged employee problems (unless a parent becomes involved). Compensation is not realistic CEO/ED blames the rate of pay on Alta. Alta does not tell them how much to pay their employees. The company decides. Just excuses. They expect employees to do dual (support two people at once) for the same pay. Dual employeer= half of your hours will come from IHSS. Yes, that means you will be taxed TWICE AND all of your money will not come at once.

Pros

Lots of hours, flexible schedule

Cons

Company does not care about how many hours their employees work. I was working 80+ hours a week and they still continued to call and ask me to work more shifts. Employer care more about their clients than their employees. Will allow clients to physically hurt employees and yet not do anything to change the situation. Company also does not pay when clients destroy the property of the employee - ie: client breaks part of your car, urinates in your car, etc.
