Pros
Some great managers, some great co-workers, the general manager is amazing and will take on problems head first and solve them if they can, customers are great and the job itself is great.
Cons
Long hours for lack of breaks and staff meals. When staff meals are provided there is a lack of concern for dietary requirements and sometimes it is yesterdays meals that were cooked for guests, at times it is left too long before staff can get it so it's inedible. Minimum wage, even on public holidays such as Christmas and New Year holidays, which are a requirement to work. Minimum wage for working long hours at busy functions and working past midnight. Inexperienced deputy manager. Poor communication, poor team work. Too many staff getting away with poor work ethic, lazing around, lots of sackable offenses committed. Night porters treated shockingly and expected to do too much. Company wide lack of concern towards general welfare of their staff. Lack of hands on training. Modules need reviewing and updated, poorly presented and poor questions asked, lots of useless information put in and lots of useful information missed. Frequently lacking correct tools to do jobs.
