Pros

Working across St. Catharines and the Niagara region, I appreciate the freedom to build my own schedule and the strong work-life balance that comes with this role. My time is split between a well-resourced clinic, community visits, and two to three days working from home each week. Parking at the clinic is covered for both staff and clients, and the space is regularly stocked with updated resources. Leadership is approachable and genuinely supportive. The organization takes continuing education seriously — I completed my Master's Degree during my time here, with a reduced workload to accommodate it, no change to my salary, and a pay increase once I finished. This is a place that backs its employees and helps them grow.

Cons

I primarily work with people injured in motor vehicle accidents and can be challenging at times dealing with auto insurers and restricted treatment plans. It has also taken some adjusting to learn the various systems and about the auto sector.

Pros

The physical space was well-maintained. There were adequate therapeutic resources available.

Cons

- I gave three years of unwavering work, came in early, stayed late, picked up extra cases when we were short, and received absolutely no acknowledgement for any of it. - I'd complete thorough assessments, handle difficult situations, and the response was nothing but silence, as if none of my efforts even mattered. - Decisions from above clearly ignored recognizing staff effort, so my work simply became expected and invisible, like I was some background function unworthy of appreciation. - Being treated like I was invisible wore me down far more than I expected. Providing care while feeling like nobody cared about my contributions was exhausting in its own way. - I left because I could no longer keep showing up only to be taken for granted, and by that point, I no longer cared whether I had made a difference.

Pros

This is one of the few places in the MVA space where you can actually do good clinical work without constantly fighting the system. The referral pipeline is steady so you never have to worry about filling your schedule, and the admin team handles all the insurer coordination so you can just focus on your clients. Management respects your clinical judgment and doesn't tell you how to run your sessions. The pay is solid, you're compensated fairly for the volume, and they actually follow through on what they promise. The team culture is supportive — other therapists here genuinely want to collaborate, not compete. A lot of my clients come in after a really difficult experience and seeing them make real progress is incredibly rewarding.

Cons

It's busy. That's the nature of MVA work. But if you're organized and manage your schedule well, it's very doable. Onboarding could be a bit more structured for new hires, though colleagues are always willing to help you find your footing.
