Pros

Pay and benefits were amazing, particularly at the higher levels. I also worked with very dedicated, professional, and smart people.

Cons

The workplace was kinda "stiff," although there were fun times. Worst of all, though was the overall toxicity -- lack of trust, cooperation, etc. There was a lot of political posturing that was valued above actual work. While there have been leadership changes since my time there, I've heard nothing positive about them.

Pros

Best networking opportunity I've ever had. They made it a priority to connect me with other interns and professionals in the industry. Was given the responsibility of several large projects. My day-to-day was varied. Would highly recommend.

Cons

The communication department never felt like a team. Many of the people I worked with as an intern are no longer there, so I can't speak to its current status.

Pros

The industry sounds impactful on paper. You’ll gain exposure to high-level stakeholders and policy work. Decent pay and benefits compared to some nonprofits but they roll back benefits every chance they get.

Cons

Current CEO Alex Dunn and HR lack leadership and integrity. Leadership talks about ethics, respect, and collaboration but rarely demonstrates it. A culture of favoritism and silencing; concerns are brushed aside or outright ignored. Lack of accountability from management; when issues arise, blame is pushed down instead of addressed. Employees are expected to overextend themselves with little recognition or support. Raises and promotions are inconsistent and often political.
