Pros
Bad people all around the board
Cons
I am a women from diverse background-sisters, friends, neighbors, and single mothers—who believe in fair treatment and a better future. As former residents of Crossway Community’s Family Leadership Academy in Kensington, MD, we have faced unfair treatment and are united to share our stories and seek justice. We demanded the removal of the CEO and administration of Crossway Community and the Crossway Montessori School. While we believe in the program, the current administration has abused their power, promoted falsehoods, and neglected the core values of the program. They exploit our stories for funding but fail to deliver on promises, and have used intimidation, false evictions, and mistreatment of children to control us. We refuse to be silenced any longer. Please support our petition to replace the CEO, Kathleen Guinan, and her administration with compassionate and qualified leaders. Facts: HOC and DHCA started investigating Crossway Community in May 2014. Housing Opportunities Commission of Montgomery County ended its partnership with Crossway Community on June 1, 2015. Megan Remo, CEO of District Desserts, ended her partnership with Kathleen Guinan on June 19, 2015, citing lies and uninspected kitchen use. All current residents are leaving Crossway Community by 7/31/2015. Support us in creating social change and a better environment for single mothers.
