Pros
The closest thing to being a 'pro' would be a paycheck but even that wasn't worth the hassle when there are other options.
Cons
TLDR: Applicant Beware!!! The words 'toxic work environment' don't even begin to describe this nightmare. Places like this are the reason unions exist. To people just entering the work force; this IS the job you were warned about so you would try harder in school. To those who like this type of industry try Material Installations, Colonial or Wakefield first if their not hiring then go work at 7-11 until you figure something else out. The details: First off forget all of those 'positive reviews'. A lot of the people who put those up are part of the "in crowd" at that place. Most of the other reviews I saw are from people who simply did not work there to any meaningful degree. They either dropped off or picked up a shipment and saw just a small catered moment. Think about it aren't you usually nice to customers while they are in your store? The complete lack of organization from the top down makes the job stressful enough. The management in the office is virtually clueless to the work environments they send their people out to. They do not support their workers at all! Their knee-jerk reaction is to blame you for wanting clarification. They seem to think that watching all 9 seasons of "The Office" count as sufficient training, but the sad thing is their bar wasn't even that high. Gaslighting, lying straight to your face and unfounded accusations are their idea of good employee relations. There is virtually zero work/life balance! There is no set start time other than sometime between 4:30AM and 7AM and you never know exactly when until around 3PM the day before when they send you a text. That is assuming management remembers to send you the text in the first place. They try to sell you on 'tons of overtime'. The truth is they have ZERO respect or consideration for your time and when they were responsible for messing something up they have no problem 'asking' you to go fix their mess after you already worked a 10+ hour day. I don't mean an extra 30 minutes, I mean a chunk of time that basically equates to an entire new work shift. You can say no, but it will cost you more than you think behind closed doors. They expect every second of your time it's absurd! Forget about having a full weekend off without being hassled about it. They will work you 6 sometimes 7 days straight and look at you like you're at fault for being tired. Not all, but most of the 'foremen' have no problem lying and saying anything to cover their own hides and if that means throwing anyone else under the bus then thats what it means. During my time at this three ring circus many foremen stated the small bump in pay was not worth the extra hassle. I even saw a few people get promoted and they all had basically the same reaction of dread and disgust. To be abundantly clear there were a few good foremen I just hated the way this place used them up and ran them into the ground. It was almost an expectation that they would send the wrong tools or the wrong items to a job site. When that wasn't the problem they sent the wrong people to the wrong place or maybe on the wrong day. Very rarely did I see a day where everything worked out the way it was supposed to or even resembled something like organization. Yet all of the companies we shared job sites with seemed to have their act together, even similar companies like MI, Colonial and Wakefield were a big cut above these guys. People you work directly with were a mixed bag. Most of them were actually very helpful and encouraging but usually just confused because nobody was giving them any direction or idea whatsoever to roll with. Despite having foremen on site it was usually just a case of the loudest voice heard. The office was always more than happy to call and confuse the situation even further.
