Pros
No accountability, if you’re doing bad work, that’s okay! You can show up in basketball shorts and Jordans as a carpenter. Can disobey shop rules if you hide it and are encouraged to. There’s also overtime available if you’re friends with somebody in charge.
Cons
They underpay employees and don’t value good work ethic. Their available pay scale is extremely misleading as it’s usually $20 an hr or $29 not really anything in between. They prefer high school type kids so that will be your peers as well. They use shop gossip and assume situations without investigating or questioning employees. The shop culture and politics are very bad. There is no way to advance in this shop, as there’s a big family working there and nepotism largely reigns there.
