No respect for Ad sales people - Anonymous employee D Magazine Partners Employee Review

Pros

Flexible daily work schedule and vacation time off, high profile/prestigious position in Dallas media market

Cons

Clique-ish, only a handful of ad reps make any money--$100K to $400K+ because virtually all of the viable accounts are already distributed to those tenured reps, who handle a ridiculous amount of accounts, while the other reps, who rarely stay long, get the crumbs. The owners seem to tolerate ad sales as a necessary evil, and make it apparent they value the editorial team over ad sales, vs. respecting each component equally.

Pros

Smart, creative, fun people. A lot of flexibility and work-life balance. Leadership who truly cares about both you and the company. Get to dip your toes into a lot of different avenues which is great experience. D is honestly the best place I’ve worked - there’s always a new opportunity or fun challenge and I love the people I work with. I feel respected and valued.

Cons

Pay could be higher as others have mentioned. Since it’s a smaller company, there aren’t direct/obvious routes for promotion, but opportunities are still there.
