Pros
Great benefits including a generous company pension Full pay when needed to take sickness leave - up to 6 months Prospects if willing to move or to longer commuting Excellent HR policies and engagement Strong company values Good and extensive internal training Yearly payrise
Cons
Very low pay for office jobs and warehouse - lower than the market Limited prospect to progress if unwilling to move or longer commutes (which tended to leave mothers and people who couldn't drive a bit stuck) No (or extremely rare) investment in employee training outside of what the company would provide - sales people would go through long and tough leadership training which they couldn't then use to progress elsewhere Management very male-heavy on Service Centres (they'd manage warehouse, couriers and office staff) Very often staff were overworked due to long hours, excessive workload or because the teams were short of staff.
