Pros

I have been at Dish for years, and am currently working as an office manager in the CFO's office. In addition to coordinating several manager's schedules, I provide office support and coordinate different teams. Working at Dish is always fun because of the employees that work here who really exemplify teamwork and commitment. We often do group lunches or go for drinks after work. Leadership at Dish is great, and there's a real culture of innovation and winning -- even though we're the underdog in the industry playing against competitors who are backed by large corporate groups with a lot more money.

Cons

Obviously Dish isn't giving away as many stock options as they did in the early days. The people I know who started working at Dish in the late 1990's made the most money.

Withholding calls based on weekly performance. Favoritism. Undesirable shifts.

Pros

Work from home is the only pro I can think of

Cons

They don’t provide any equipment aside from the computer itself. They mislead you during the interview and job description. You are paid according to price of product sold and close rate however it’s all inbound calls and you can not call back. The inbound calls are lousy, people who don’t even have a $1 on a card in order to do the eligibility check, or no card at all.. poor credit which leads to higher out of pocket costs. I think only a handful of times I couldn’t overcome the spousal objection or the just shopping objection. Those I will take responsibility for but if I’m getting calls from people who don’t have a card or don’t have a $ or don’t have the money to put down OR already have an account or is a mis-transfer or were passed along because the technicians have to make referrals even though the customer isn’t actually interested in the product yet the tech makes them still call.. that’s crap and it’s not real sales.
