Pros

You get to work on very major deals. And the money is good.

Cons

You are always on call. Day, night, or weekend, vacation or not. As a new associate the work that you do is essentially secretarial. And if your hours are low you will be whisked out the door. There is minimal security, and minimal leisure time to enjoy the money.

Pros

- Excellent pay and benefits - Flexibility with the hybrid schedule (depending on your practice group) - Easy to build community with other assistants and paralegals

Cons

- Easy to fall into burnout due to understaffing in assistant/paralegal positions - Be prepared for an unexpectedly higher or lower workload at any point. - D.C. location is particularly strict about the hybrid expectations - A bit disorganized as a whole when it comes to onboarding and training for your particular practice group.
