Pros

Great salary. There are some very nice people there and the owners seem to genuinely care

Cons

The upper management is horrible. The account team turnover is super high. No one makes it over a year and a half. In the last 2 years, there have been 5+ turnovers. People go from being star employees to being called incompetent and being screamed at. Watch out, they find your replacement before they fire you. We watched 5 people quit/get let go within six months. Account Team Management is combative and they make for a hostile work environment. Management does not care about you anymore. If you aren't working 11 hour days, they say you aren't being a valuable employee. There is more to life outside of work. Planning and not over-promising deliverables would eliminate all of the late nights.

DRC (Design Resource Center) Response

It is unfortunate that DRC did not live up to your expectations; as our only desire is to make all employees welcome and give them a fulfilling work experience. We believe that there is always room for improvement and we always consider our past employees' feedback as a valuable source of information. Although many employees find DRC to be a great place to work with a collaborative culture for those in search of personal excellence, we do understand that the concept of our culture and demands on an account executive may not suit all skill sets. Like all aspects of our business, we take great pride in the excellence of our customer service. We have been recognized by many of our clients as a consultancy with the best account management staff. Every constructive criticism shared with us has been taken very seriously by our team. We strive to keep the standards expected by our employees, on the highest level, ensuring satisfaction and embracing change as an opportunity for improvement.

Pros

DRC was a great place to work! I looked forward to going to work every day in the beautiful office and being part of the DRC team. I enjoyed the variety of projects working with big clients and the creative studio feel. I love going to the store and seeing products in packaging that we have created! The management is very welcoming and accessible and they value the team’s input and recommendations. They truly care about their employees and have been implementing more ways to promote a strong office culture between departments, especially during Covid with some employees in-person and some working virtually. Monthly Happy Hours and Coffee with Conversations via in-person/virtual meetings are fun and are a great way to get employees interacting with each other to promote connection and strengthen the office culture. I enjoyed working on a diverse range of projects and that every day was different. There are a lot of opportunities to learn and apply your skills and flex your creativity. You are an asset to the team and your growth is beneficial to everyone. My generous boss had even offered to pay for continuing education courses if I was interested in learning new skills/techniques. My co-workers have been great and it has been an overall awesome work environment.

Cons

It is essential to be good at multi-tasking and prioritizing to meet deadlines. Is it a fast-paced environment and time-management is essential.
