RED FLAGS FROM THE START - Security Gaurd DSI Security Employee Review

Our contract at my job was awarded to DSI. They offered positions to our team, and because our current company had limited roles available, several of us chose to stay and continue working at the post we had already been at for some time. We genuinely loved our job, worked well together, and had built a strong, cohesive team. DSI offered us a significant pay cut compared to what we were already earning, which we reluctantly accepted. Then, the day before we were scheduled to begin our shifts, the district manager sent a text message informing us that we would all be losing our jobs. We were told that the client had decided to move forward with entirely new officers. However, many of us experienced issues getting our onboarding paperwork signed, which leads me to firmly believe they knew this outcome well in advance. It feels clear that they allowed us to believe we had secured positions simply to keep the site covered, despite knowing we would not actually be retained. Today is December 14—right in the middle of the holiday season. What kind of company is comfortable not only paying people significantly less than they are worth, but also laying off multiple employees just before the holidays? I believe this speaks volumes about the company itself, its management, and, at its core, the kind of people running it. Throughout the onboarding process, numerous red flags appeared: poor communication, difficulty getting scheduled meetings honored, ongoing issues with paperwork, and more. In hindsight, these should have been clear signs that this was not a company anyone would want to work for. One would expect that working for a small business would offer better treatment than a large corporation—but that assumption turned out to be an incredible deception.
