Pros

Very good segment with strong growth potential. Need to diversify their customer base to ensure long term stability. Good facility and general location, Portland enjoys a very high quality of life.

Cons

Top two executives in the company are raging narcissists. This manifests itself in either active aggressive or passive aggressive behavior towards subordinates. Also, there are several in the facility that sexually harassing women in the work place....especially if they are attractive. This seems to be condoned by management since one of them has a history of this behavior.

DWFritz Response

Dear Former Employee, First, allow us to apologize for our late response to your feedback. As you may be aware, DWFritz has undergone quite a few changes over the past few years and we are confident that you would find that we have evolved significantly as a company. For many years DWFritz was a small, job-shop and within the last three years, we have taken our company to new heights, with a focus on world-class practices and a values-driven culture. Our concerted efforts in these areas have actually resulted in a high level of employee retention, even as we’ve gone through tremendous change and growth. Our turn-over rate in 2016 was 12.28% compared to a nation-wide average of 16.7%. We would like to reduce this even further, and we take measures to survey all of our employees twice a year, and then acting on the feedback we receive. We heard your concerns and we took decisive action to make sure DWFritz is a comfortable and safe place to work for all of our employees no matter their gender or orientation. Sincerely, Talent & Organizational Development

Pros

The office is kinda okay?

Cons

If you're doing controls engineering be prepared to work ludicrous hours. Like 100hrs/week at times. And plan on being gone overseas for 4 weeks at a time, the "3 week travel" turns into 3 weeks straight of working 14 hour days with no days off then a "hey we really need you to stay another week." There's a very real risk of spending enough days in China that you are subject to their income taxation requirements.
