Pros

Good pay Remote work Dedicated, hardworking peers Truly interesting projects RSU's can actually be liquidated

Cons

Large amounts of travel at the drop of a hat Unrealistic schedules and targets Engineers fleeing the manufacturing sites because of toxic management, which the company refuses to address Forcing manufacturing operators and engineers to do more with less in order to try to save on overhead costs, with no regard to burnout or realism of what people can handle Rotating through temp/contract employees to run complex manufacturing equipment is a recipe for inefficiency Bonuses halved due to company underperforming to it's (unrealistic) goals Management doesn't seem to understand how to develop manufacturing capabilities, or not in a healthy or lasting way If the company isn't profitable by now in a high-margin market like dental, it seems doubtful to be able to be Valuation is suspect, seems like valued as a tech/app company than one that makes a physical product If you're hired, consider yourself a contract employee. The company seems to go through cycles of overhiring to meet busy periods, and then lay them off once the period is over.

Pros

At first you think that you get to help dentists with a great product and software which ultimately helps patients.

Cons

Then you get into the weeds... 1. You are doing everything -- Enterprise is more like mid market (think a DSO with maybe locations). You need to sell into them, then coordinate all shipping, training, QC etc. There is no launch team or CSM. It's even worse for the Large Enterprise/Strat team. (don't even think about doing that) 2. Travel -- they will tell you 20% travel -- they mean you will travel every week to exciting places like Missouri to visit ONE dental office to get them to onboard. 3. Comp -- you get paid the most when you get each of the individual offices to use Dandy; but you only get that "activation" once. Then you are out hunting again. 4. Tech -- they cornered the market on the "free scanner" but now almost all DSOs have scanners so you are NOT selling digital transformation but now you have to convert their old process to Dandy. The tech is good but not great; lots of remakes even from the new facility in Salt lake. This then causes upset customers and they call you. 5. It's like an old pharma sales job. Where you visit each dental office to get them to adopt Dandy. 6. Big Brother -- I don't understand how they are doing it but the leadership listens to EVERY call, reviews every item in MEDDPICC etc. Not that this is inherently bad but it comes down to a debate over every word. Have one call with a customer? You need a full MEDDPIC filled out... 7. Leadership -- they are smart guys but totally not presentable-- you can never have them on a cal with a customer. 8. Comp -- there is no way to make quota 9 Culture -- cut throat. Really bad.
