Pros

Work life balance is great, mostly because nobody cares about anything. That said, if you don't want to devote your life to the company you'll fit in just fine.

Cons

Leadership is abysmal. Unrealistic, arbitrary goals are set for sales people. Sales goals are the same for Orange County as they are for Bakersfield or Sacramento, and many great people have been fired for coming up short only to be replaced by someone incompetent. They claim 50% closing percentage, but even the best sales people only get above that figure when you add in their previous customers. Newbies are expected to hit 50%, but they don't have the past customers to pad their numbers and will end up closing at around 25%. Even veterans are in the 25-40% range for new customers. New sales people will have their volume limited. You'll get at most 2 appointments per day and it takes forever to get bumped up. At 20 working days a month with a ~3500 avg sale, you're looking at total sales of $35000. Of that you'll get less than 10% in commission. Since it takes so long to be opened up to more than 2 appointments, you'll struggle to get by. The departments don't work well together. Many departments actively dislike each other and their managers support this with their attitudes. At the end of the day sales is the only department that is appreciated in the slightest. There is no sense that anyone in the company cares about their coworkers, the company, or the customers. Everyone is in it for a buck or because they can't find anything better to do. The product is priced sky high despite the fact that they manufacture the same product for Home Depot and 3 Day Blinds where it sells for almost half the price. Upper management is beyond awful. Expect kneejerk reactions to complaints from sales people that will arbitrarily change the way the company does business. These ideas are rarely customer friendly. There is no room for advancement. The company rarely promotes from within and when they have they haven't offered any support or guidance and have set the person up for failure. They're fired or demoted within 6 months. Sales training is awful. Sales people come out and routinely misprice or promise jobs that are impossible to manufacture for their first several months.

Pros

Experienced marketing excellence generates qualified lead flow most of the time. Longtime, very competent installers. Good website. Best warranty. Shutter manufacturer (US) - not reseller. 40+ years. Longtime top salespeople. Many repeat clients.

Cons

High turnover at all levels of management. Up and down growth. Insufficient designer support. 100% commission job. Surprisingly frequent commissions errors.....slow to correct. Manufactures less expensive shutters for competitors in same locations...so you compete against yourself. High prices. Average delivery time. East Coast ownership is no longer in touch with Danmer's California local markets and doesn't offer competitive advantage.
