Pros

I have been with Dartmouth Partners for over 3 years now; having worked in vastly different recruitment environments and seen it all through other friends in the industry. Dartmouth really does strive for more. They look to get the most out of you and if you put in the effort, it will come with it's reward. I have enjoyed the culture and everything this company has to offer time and time again. A few negative comments below, personally from experience tends to be those that have fallen out of love with the industry (Recruitment/Executive Search) rather than Dartmouth itself. However, any and all negative points for me do tend to be transparently addressed and aimed to be solved by senior management. I have been impressed since day one and continue to be - there is not many other firms like this around. If considering working for DP, try asking potential clients that have worked with Dartmouth what they think about them - it's usually a great sign of a firm and I would be confident that 9 times out of 10 a positive experience is had. Now that is hard to do in an industry polluted with mediocre standards! Under new investment now also, it will be exciting to see how it continues to grow.

Cons

To give a fair review this must of course come with cons, for which there are very few. Typically people state long hours, but this is more a personal opinion based upon the hours you are willing to put in. Will you work more hours here than a high street recruiter, yes. Commission has improved greatly, in fact I am jealous of individuals joining now in comparison to a few years ago. Dartmouth listened to employees and changed structure. Is there firms elsewhere in the short term that will pay more, of course! Like in any role, you can always find short term gain in any job move. Promotions - can be tough in this environment due to the high standards. Not such a bad thing! People seem promoted based upon true merit AND hitting the right targets outside of numbers. Not just a great quarter... However, you will need to meet tougher criteria than other firms.

Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review. As you’ve said, Dartmouth really does strive to change the game in an industry which has a poor reputation. This involves ensuring that our standards remain consistently high, which can be tough in challenging market conditions, but means it’s important we continue to reward consistent effort and results. It’s great to hear that you value this and the approach of our senior management team, and we’re excited for this next stage in our journey.
