A Cautionary Tale: My Three Years at Dasra Left Deep Scars My time at Dasra was not just disappointing—it was deeply damaging. What presents itself as a progressive, impact-driven organization is, in reality, a toxic environment that systematically breaks employees down. The psychological toll may never fully fade, and I write this as a warning to others. Toxic Leadership Masquerading as Visionary The founders and senior leadership operate with unchecked power, demanding absolute loyalty while offering little in return. Dissent is met with public humiliation, exclusion, or outright retaliation. Many leaders are more concerned with self-preservation than meaningful work—facts are twisted for funders, and employees are routinely sacrificed to cover leadership’s failures. New leaders? Often unqualified—either nepotism hires or former consultants who couldn’t succeed elsewhere. Their contributions? Empty jargon, zero substance. A Workplace That Destroys Health The stress here is unbearable. Colleagues developed ulcers, chronic insomnia, and stress-induced autoimmune disorders—only to be dismissively told to “use the therapy allowance” by HR. Panic attacks are normalized. It’s common to see people crying in bathrooms or hyperventilating at their desks after yet another outburst from leadership. HR is a facade. They exist to protect the organization, not employees. Raise concerns? You’ll be labeled “too sensitive” and sidelined.
