Pros

Can’t think of a single pro

Cons

Upper management must have made people leave the positive reviews just as they made us do with the products on their website. This was the absolute worst company I have ever worked for. Every single day was miserable. We were not allowed to talk in the office, we were not given parking passes so we had to bring our lunch every single day while senior employees went out to lunch. There is a Starbucks within walking distance and they sent out and email asking us to stop going there during work hours because the 15 minute break was eating into our productivity. Upper management was clueless and were hired because they were friends of the CEO, not because they knew what they were doing. They were not receptive to change or new ideas and blamed large problems on employees taking time off, not staying more than 9 hours a day and too much socializing in the office. The culture was non existent but they constantly tried to hammer into your head how amazing it was. Not only do they not value their customers or clients but they don’t value their employees. I have nothing good to say about this company and would not recommend it to anyone looking to further their career or enjoy their job.

Thank you for taking time to leave your feedback. We welcome honest critiques, both negative and positive to find better ways of doing things as we grow. I am sorry that you chose to stay in a role and at a company that was so terrible and miserable for you, even for a few months. As a fast-growing company, it’s true we’ve been dealing with growing pains such as capacity issues in the office. The entire team has been sharing parking passes, allowing one another to leave during lunch breaks. One positive is that we’ve also been encouraging everyone to go out to lunch together to build rapport among the team until we can find a solution with the building management. The Starbucks email you’re referring to was addressed to those employees arriving at the office as late as 9:20am, then immediately leaving for a Starbucks break when we have a coffee bar in-office. This sort of behavior impacts productivity and can be directly correlated to goals not being reached. Most importantly, it affects the morale of everyone on the team, especially those that work hard. Again, I appreciate your perspective and wish you the best.

Pros

Dogs are allowed. Mostly just Bruno, but others have asked and been allowed to bring their dogs in. The other employees are great people.

Cons

-Raises don't happen. Don't expect it -If you don't fit into the culture, bye! -Hope you like sales. Its all the company cares about -Upper management are like puppet masters. They do what they want, when they want. Out of stock on an item, don't expect it to be marked as such on our website. Poor customers might wait weeks with no communication from the company. Oh, and the uppers will wonder why there are so many refunds happening, and why customer service is slammed. -There is constant fear of getting let go. Job security is not something that is felt around here unless you are in upper management. - We get paid vacation time but uppers (particularly one) make you feel really guilty for taking time off.

All feedback is welcome and appreciated; especially the type of feedback that exposes areas where growth is needed. We are a performance driven product company that compensates its team based on their achievement of goals; management of KPI’s and overall value to the customer and the company. Raises are given for performance; not based on time worked. Vacation and PTO are encouraged. Life exists outside of work; and we want the team to thrive personally. To address a few of the concerns listed in this review: * “Raises don't happen. Don't expect it” Reviews are conducted monthly. Performance bonuses and commissions are earned for more often than base salary increases. Base increases are discussed in annual reviews and are based on performance. * “If you don't fit into the culture, bye!” This is an interesting thing to say as a negative about an organization. Company culture is a critical element of success everywhere. In a situation where your personal culture does not match the overall culture of the company you will always find yourself feeling stressed and pressurized. This is definitely not unique to Dastmalchi. * “Hope you like sales. Its all the company cares about” Sales of our products to our customers and the impact the products have in those customers lives are why we exist as a company. Glassdoor provides a great way for employees, prospective, current and former to engage anonymously in providing feedback on an organization. We appreciate the opportunity to engage in this forum.
