Pros
Family-friendly. A lot of "personal touch". Senior management is willing to invest in new process, technologies and training with an eye toward the long-term. Improving customer service is a key focus. The company has done well over the decades without the business best practices that exist because of its superior product set. Now that the process are being upgraded... the sky is the limit.
Cons
There is a long history without established business processes. Employees with a longer tenure sometimes seem frozen when asked to formalize a process and follow it, even if there are complications or problems.
