Pros

Our clients are obsessed with our platform and we've only just gotten started with what the product can do, which is a dream for anyone in a GTM role. There's an air of excitement about what the future holds for Databricks, and it has a motivating effect. Everyone is expected to deliver in a big way, and those who aren't up for the task are quickly found out. From what I can tell, there is still unlimited upside.

Cons

Information is still very tribal, meaning its hard to find the right person or process internally to get things done, which small companies can get away with. Databricks doubled in headcount last year so there are more people who don't know how to navigate internal processes than do know, making those sources of wisdom and their time very hard to come by. Our GTM strategy evolves so fast that metrics and priorities often change from week to week, and you are expected to have extreme ownership over all areas of your domain and deliver what (and when) you say you're going to regardless. This is a culture of "keep up". If you thrive in that environment then Databricks will be your happy place.

Pros

Great teams made up of smart, motivated people. Databricks is an exciting place to work because it is part of the growing data and AI tools space. The benefits and income are also good overall.

Cons

Databricks no longer feels like a startup. There are now multiple layers of bureaucracy, and leadership can feel territorial rather than collaborative. Over time, it can seem like business growth and internal politics have become stronger drivers than innovation or employee experience. For long-tenured employees, it may become harder to stay excited or feel challenged. Other companies may offer a more energizing environment.
