Pros

You’ll make amazing friends and the sense of camaraderie would almost be second to none (so long as your team and job remain consistent for a long period of time). When all goes to plan in a phone call, you can walk away feeling pretty good about yourself if the customer was not rude to you.

Cons

If upper management don’t see subservience, a bounty will be put on your head for lack of a better term. The $43,300 is not a competitive salary by any means for a call centre, their incentive program can be destroyed with one bad phone call which may go south for reasons out of your control. Corporate simping is rewarded by management as you’ll get into the inner circle by doing so, and unfortunately we live in a society where people are willing to compromise their own good character to do this. The Operational Blueprint (OB) the government bases its parameters on can at times contradict itself, leaving you, the CSR to need to calm a customer down when you don’t even believe the words you’re saying yourself. Mentally this can be quite a stressful job if you have faced adversity and borderline poverty in the past, as you will be able to relate to many of the stories you hear over phone calls. And unfortunately there are no “strings” you can pull as all decisions must be valid as per the Operational Blueprint (OB).

Pros

All of it . I love helping when someone’s busy and I’m not able to do something because I’m still on the sides. I like filling the ice up when someone’s hot busy, I guess the tables for the hosts a bit, even cutting bread lol. I even enjoy rolling silverware, kiss time and help people out.

Cons

Only cons is not getting tips while training but other than that I enjoy it so no hard complaints from me.
