Pros
Fantastic company culture, wonderful people, flexible hours (just get the work done, can go to the gym or run errands, appointments, etc. during the day), family oriented, and strong core mission to do good work that helps people. I was relatively new before being laid off (due to federal funding cuts) so I didn't get the most interesting project work and was mainly in supportive roles, but there were very interesting and impactful projects going on at the company.
Cons
When I was working there, I was not excited by my projects and didn't feel pushed professionally, which in many ways was due to my status as new employee and the almost immediate impact of DOGE once I joined the company. Unfortunately, while my unit had many plans for development and future projects that would have been quite interesting and pushed my skills more, federal funding cuts devastated the company's funding and many of us were laid off. I found the lay-off process to be as empathetic and supportive as a lay-off possibly can, and was happy with my severance package given the financial constraints the company was dealing with.
