Pros

Flexible work schedule (but this is standard for most startups, you have to set your boundaries) Fluidity and ability to own your role (loved my work, hated the work environment) The actual team (excluding CEO/CFO) are absolutely wonderful people Great access to an awesome community of women They are *trying* with the hire of a new COO, either it will help or the CEO & CFO will drive her effectively insane. TBD

Cons

The culture created by management is so toxic that employees deal with a mild form of PTSD upon exit. No, I'm very serious. Anxiety is rampant, you constantly have to defend yourself and your work, management is erratic, shockingly incompetent, wholly untrustworthy and has demonstrated time and time again that they do not hold their employees' best interests at heart. The company dropped down to 4 employees from 20+ in a year's time. Startups have generally high turnover, but this is abnormal. They bring in young women under the guise that they will be empowered and instead demean and disrespect them until they are brought to tears. Again, I am serious. Coworkers have literally been driven to tears over nonsense by the CFO. There is no real vision and guidance from CEO, she literally operates on a whim. Save yourself the trouble and pursue another opportunity. It's maddening and not conducive to personal and professional growth. Lastly, the positive reviews on the Parity Partners glassdoor page are all written by interns or an internal teammate per the CEO's demand. No one has left with a positive experience working here. If you do decide to work here for some reason, I advise you stay a year, build connections in the community then swiftly exit.

Pros

The individuals at Parity Partners are a smart and mission-driven group. It was a pleasure working with them for over two months as their Marketing and Project Management Intern. I was given the opportunity to work on multiple different ongoing projects in support of their Parity Professional Program (P3). Although Parity is a small team, they are growing quickly and so is their community. I had the opportunity to plan and attend a few of their P3 events, providing me with the opportunity to network with women in a variety of industries and hear from many industry leaders. The autonomy given to employees, especially interns, as well as the flexible and dynamic work culture allowed me to take on various projects of interest and support the launch of the second year of P3. I highly enjoyed working with the individuals at Parity and felt very supported in my career interests and skill development. I would absolutely recommend the internship experience to other students!

Cons

If you are looking for a big, hierarchical company then Parity Partners is likely not for you. Parity has a flat and supportive culture with a start-up feel to it!
