Pros

The office is located in a nice area.

Cons

The owner is the worst person to work for. You will be demeaned and left in tears. If you value your mental health this is not the place for you. The workload is exhausting which is hard to get done with all the distractions in the tiny office. Terrible energy and you will leave stressed every day. You will not feel rewarded for all of the hard work you do. It is very disorganized, there is no proper HR, the benefits are atrocious, don't waste your time!

Pros

Unlike working in a big company and focus on a very specific task, I worked as multiple roles here, in charge of every parts of a real world e-commerce project and got knowledge about everything in the system. And my idea and work will display to end user immediately.

Cons

IT department had 1 people for a long time. Spent most of the time for daily maintains so couldn't focus on creative projects.

Work hours are decent. That's about it.

Nepotism at an all time high! The narcissistic owner (CEO) whom is in office everyday is EXTREMELY rude and disrespectful. It is 2017 but in office it felt like the 1800's. The turnover rate regarding employees is beyond this world. HR/payroll team is non existent therefore vacation and sick hours are calculated incorrectly. Employees have cried during a shift or left the office in tears due to the unprofessionalism by the owner. The woman in charge of training is very helpful and tries her best to be the go to person between management and the employees. Any good reviews may have been left by a family member or “employee/family member”. If you value yourself as an adult and individual save yourself the time, pain, and stress and DO NOT work for DecoratorsBest. You will regret it if you do!!! Believe the reviews and find a company that will appreciate their employees. Find a company that won’t view their employees as someone they OWN. By far the WORST company to work for in NYC!

Our millennial employees stay with us for a longer time than the average for this group. We adhere to the NYC Earned Sick Time Act and meticulously calculate hours accrued for paid sick days. I am sorry that working at DecoratorsBest did not meet your expectations. I wish that you had expressed your thoughts while you worked at our company.
