No progress - Senior assistant project executive Defence Science & Technology Agency Employee Review

Pros

A job you can consider if you do not wish for any progression

Cons

This is a job where there is no progression, no better performance bonuses no matter how well or how much you do. DSTA is a engineers focus organisation, corporate staff are mostly forgotten. Other than project support, we need to plan, support department events, report building maintenance, collect and distribute items, tickets, food given to staff, etc. We will be called upon whenever they are not engineers’s job. While other engineering teams have bonding and often gathered for welfare, we can only be supporting throughout. The supervisor is always changing, often they are not keen in our well being.

Pros

nothing much la, except you can slack/cruise all u want and won’t get sacked. Take 2 hour lunch

Cons

- very poor salary growth and starting salary - lots of ridiculous red tapes and politics; everything is about security. - lack of internet access is a big pain especially for those developers when most tools nowadays are on the net - typical to own 3 or 4 machines to access different network - go open gov or govtech better; and even better to go google or meta for branding / higher pay - u will regret coming here - most scholars leave after bond or break bond halfway, cannot take it - work for peanuts salary - engineers are expected to wear multiple hats, designer, salesman, politician, project manager, vendor manager, welfare organizer etc. - most good opportunities are reserved for scholars who themselves want to leave for greener pastures - army like culture, even army users treat u like second class citizens / servants
