Honest review of my experience with the company - Anonymous employee Definiti Employee Review

Definiti’s fast paced, high-growth environment is a strong fit for people who enjoy building, scaling, and improving processes quickly. The organization embraces technology, with a focus on modern tools and automation to streamline work and elevate the client experience. Because it’s a growing TPA, there’s meaningful opportunity to make an impact on how service is delivered and to help shape standards and best practices. The pace and variety of work can also accelerate development through cross-functional projects that deepen retirement services expertise. Finally, the ambition to become a provider of choice in the TPA space creates momentum, alignment, and pride in the mission.

With rapid growth comes intensity and priorities can shift quickly and flexibility is essential. In a scaling organization, roles and responsibilities may evolve as processes mature, which can feel ambiguous for those who prefer clearly defined lanes. A strong push toward technology and continuous improvement also requires ongoing learning and change management, which may be challenging for people who prefer established routines. At times, growth can stretch resources, making prioritization and trade offs a reality.

Definiti values their employees by promoting within the organization. I was a senior analyst that was promoted to manager within the last year. The organization hires employees to work remotely from across the country. Therefore, there is no actual boss that can literally breathe down your neck. There is no limit on PTO. We have freedom to do errands during the day for ourselves and for our families, but freedom also means responsibility to meet IRS deadlines, be available for co-workers who await our feedback, and be able to return the PTO time that was used by working some overtime. Fair enough. There is no single co-worker at Definiti that I dislike. I do appreciate or understand where they are coming from. Finance or retirement math has a narrow neighborhood of correct answers so I can always strike a compromise and work things out to lead to the right outcome.

Definiti is a large organization so someone might finish work on the West Coast which is 5PM their time and as a manager on the East Cost it is 8PM my time so sometimes, I will have to make allowances to be available for them. Definiti pays a decent salary. Everyone would like to be paid more. I mean no one ever says that they are earning too much. I do place a money value on the PTO and I can make up for the shortage in salary by buying options during the day on stocks that I am believing for. I don't even have to pay taxes since I made the trades in my IRA.
