Pros

You’ll quickly learn the basics of solar development. Fun company parties

Cons

Strategies are constantly changed and implemented with little to no analysis or thought; process improvement is non-existent. NY DG is saturated and the company lacks long term vision to change its business model to continue to build in NY profitably or move into less saturated markets. Volatile and unprofessional leadership; the CEO is prone to yelling at staff during meetings. Shortage of adequate engineering staff. Management will fail to fulfill promises of development and growth within the company and industry. While compensation may be adequate, benefits are lackluster — expensive health insurance and no vision insurance. Company also reneged on promise to implement 401(k) matching. In short, the company is disorganized, lacks decisive and thoughtful leadership, lacks adequate engineering expertise, and has a verbally abusive CEO

Pros

Great coworkers united by the fear struck into our hearts when management entered the room. Exposure to the solar industry and the expectation to dive into tasks with little guidance when starting role led to a lot of growth in the first few months of employment.

Cons

Complete lack of vision for company objectives led to simultaneous lack of guidance and constant micromanagement, flip-flopping of priorities and instruction from above, and pigeonholing of tasks and responsibilities. CEO prone to yelling, and frequent outbursts led to a hostile work environment. Lack of professionalism and overall low morale for future of company.
