Pros
DCP offers extensive and great training that prepare YW's for their role.
Cons
Poor work/life balance and limited support. The department's staffing crisis means there is limited staffing consistency in residential care placements. Placements where there are supposed to be multiple YW's on shift are sometimes understaffed meaning YW's have to work alone. The staffing issues also mean that sometimes YW's get stuck on shift if no one is rostered on the relieve them.
