The field itself lacks future prospects, particularly due to the rise of AI, and the company's inadequate investment in technology further limits opportunities. Knowledgeable but irrelevant individuals: Despite having some highly knowledgeable professionals in the field of Accessibility, their expertise may not be of much relevance or importance given the company's circumstances and insufficient focus on relevant technologies.

Lack of adherence to core values: Management does not align with the company's core values, leading to a disconnect between their actions and the organization's principles. Dishonesty and lack of respect: Management engages in negative discussions about employees in private, showing a lack of honesty and respect towards their team members. Culture of negativity: The company fosters a negative environment that stems from the top-down, affecting employee morale and overall productivity. Favoritism and lack of trust: Many employees, particularly long-term staff, are either friends, relatives, or overly supportive of management, making it difficult to confide in or trust colleagues. Retaliation against dissenting voices: Employees who provide feedback or express disagreement with management face targeting and negative consequences as a result. Outdated technologies: The company utilizes outdated technologies, which hinders efficiency, innovation, and competitiveness. Deceptive hiring practices: The company hires employees with niche skills on higher salaries for short-term assignments without disclosing the temporary nature of their employment, leading to a short shelf life for these individuals. Pros

As a seller, there's key things I personally look for in a role (ability to hit/overachieve on quota, solution fit, and work-life balance). Quota attainment: This is one of the strongest areas. Most of the AEs are either above quota or at least 70-80%+ which is impressive for sales roles these days. For those below, they're typically newer reps ramping up and building their books of business of may have had an off quarter. Lead flow, while at times has been inconsistent, has picked up in 2026 which is great for our team's outlook. Solution fit: competitors in this space over pieces of what Deque can - while it's competitive and customers will choose competitors here and there, Deque has a significant lead in strategy and current offerings. Having worked at other accessibility companies, it's far beyond what others can do. Work-life balance: this is the one area that can be improved for what I look for. Enhancements in rep efficiency via various tools help and I expect it'll get better in 2026, but there's a lot of work to be done.

Cons

It's really on the work-life balance piece - it's not a critical issue for me given the earning potential and the pros above, but it's important to take time here and there to recharge and step away.
