Pros

The non-family staff is good. I actually feel sorry for the non-senior management family members. I wish it was more but unfortunately I could find none.

Cons

I will follow glassdoors guidelines and will not say what could be and has been in other environments. 1)The smiles you see are fake and the mood is oppressive. 2) If you have new ideas/designs, design improvements, marketing ideas or whatever they will use it though it is very unlikely you will be given credit but credit will be taken. 3) If that is not bad enough they hire qualified people, with more experience than those in charge and then ignore input. 4) Do not expect a long career here and do not expect promotions. 5) It did not take long after I started here that I did not believe anything I was being told or anything I heard. The deceit seems to be every where and told to every and any one, employees, vendors, customers Deceittech would be more appropriate. 6) Deserttech is old enough to have a basic understanding of the rifle business but they do not. 'But the owner knows everything.' 7) If you are a white collar professional look elsewhere. *Understand this, family over rides experience every time. It is a lot of positions here filled by unqualified family members and some would say and have said behind closed doors that it goes all the way to the top. **The CEO is very volatile and has no polish but plenty of ego. He hires needed more qualified, knowledgeable and experienced personnel, specialist they need and then does not let them do what they were hired for. The micromanagement is suffocating. During the hiring process everything is great, everyone is agreeable, then a few days later, after you have been hired and left another job or turned down other offers that all but goes away. It is almost as if he hires just so he can run people into the ground and so he can impress them on how he 'knows and has done everything'. ***3 OF THE REVIEWS HERE ARE VERY ACCURATE PLEASE READ THEM THEN GOOGLE EVERYTHING *-***These are my opinions and observations of this company

Desert Tech Response
8y
Over that past 18 months Desert Tech was restructured from a small-scale to large-scale engineering and manufacturing company. This involved creating inter-departmental processes to significantly increase our engineering and production output, to increase our product quality, and to reduce our leads times and costs. These efforts significantly streamlined the supply chain and forced departmental functions to coordinate with the rest of the supply chain. Unfortunately, many employees could not see the overall vision and did not want to implement new processes, some people even fought against the needed changes. We lost several employees during the restructuring, but the benefits of restructuring outweighed the stress and difficulty of the transition. Desert Tech is happy to report that after the restructuring production output increased 400% and operating costs have decreased 35%. DT expects production output to have a total increase of 800% within the next quarter. It was a difficult and stressful transition for the company and our team. Desert Tech respects all former staff members who elected to not be a part of the transition. Sincerely Nicholas Young CEO, Desert Tech, LLC
