Pros

DDC does a rare thing—it walks its talk. I grew up in Ethiopia, and being able to represent DC, home to the largest Ethiopian community outside of Ethiopia, makes my work feel deeply personal. The company values retention and truly invests in its people with excellent benefits, catered lunches, team retreats, and an internal culture that mirrors the community strength we promote externally.

Cons

It’s a fast-paced environment, so balancing multiple high-priority projects requires strong organization and communication skills. But the team support makes it manageable.

Pros

- Kind coworkers, the people are really nice here - Fun working in tourism, gives you a lot of access to events and experiences in the city - Better PTO/Benefits plan than many other places - Only 2 days required office, perfect amount for still having community amongst coworkers

Cons

- Confusing EOY review process, we have our meetings with managers AFTER they've already decided on promotion/raise, no chance other than in writing to advocate for ourselves - Social politics impact professional growth; there are definitely favorites - A lot of meetings that are repetitive/JUST updates - Overall, nothing dramatically worse than any other corporate job - Hyper-focused on visibility, sometimes feel like we are always being watched and judged
