Pros
The CMO is one of the few leaders who genuinely pushes for progress in a challenging environment. While I don’t personally align with all of her management choices, she does advocate for ideas in a leadership group that is overwhelmingly male and not always receptive. The real highlight of this place is the marketing team itself, smart, capable people who work hard and support each other in spite of the circumstances.
Cons
The issues outside the marketing department are extensive. Many longtime male directors create an uncomfortable and unprofessional environment, and there is little accountability for conduct that would raise concerns in any modern workplace. The broader culture rewards longevity over performance, and poor behavior is often ignored.
There are virtually no perks, the atmosphere can become hostile, and the compensation is significantly below market rates. Workload expectations are high, yet recognition and growth opportunities are limited. It’s an environment where morale struggles to survive, and employees often feel undervalued.
If you’re considering working here, think carefully. This was not a supportive or growth-oriented environment, and many talented people have found far better opportunities elsewhere, roles where their work is respected, their contributions matter, and their compensation reflects their value. You deserve that kind of workplace. Best of luck!
