Pros

the clients are very sweet

Cons

I worked at devoted for 2 months, why so short you might ask because this company is wildly unprofessional. This company does not communicate what’s so ever. In my first 3 weeks my schedule changed every week. Then I had to get a covid test, no one made me aware the day after I gave them my results (in the middle of the week might I add at almost 6pm) I would be returning to work. Removed me off clients schedule even though the client/myself asked them for me to stay. No one then for another 3 weeks called me to go over a new schedule nothing . Emails were sent yes and I got put on 2 clients schedule then in a couple hours they had removed them from my schedule. Not only that I called HR over the scheduling issue and they were absolutely no help at all . Just said they’d talk to scheduling. So I feel that they retaliated against me and that’s why they kept adding and removing me with no explanations as to why. Oh even the clients talk about how unprofessional they are. It took 5 hours to get someone on the phone . A caregiver friend of mine was sent to a home that needed a caregiver that was VAX , they failed to tell her this information and when she showed up she was asked to leave by the clients. It took her 14 hours to get in touch with their office. Their overnight staff is ALWAYS sleeping. So if you work at 8am you have to call out at 4 but if all their overnights are asleep you can’t really do that. Then because they can’t do their job because “they work from home” (according to the HR lady that used that as an excuse) You get in trouble for not calling at the correct time. Not only did HR also say she was going to back the schedulers “bc their so busy and at home” when I was talking about how I wasn’t getting scheduled . I’m sorry if you’re at home there’s no reason getting ahold of someone should be that hard and quit frankly none of the caregivers care . Our jobs are difficult we don’t need to be jumping through extra hoops to accommodate a horribly run business ,trying to get ahold of someone because your over night is “sleeping” .

Pros

You get to meet some really great people, both clients and coworkers.

Cons

The management lies about opportunities for growth, pay raises, and time off. They will threaten, guilt-trip, and manipulate their employees constantly, trying to force us to work on our days off, giving us clients with no information about them, refusing to protect us from abusive clients, requiring us to drive an obscene amount of miles to a client's house for months and refusing to compensate for mileage, and completely ignoring all phone calls from clients and employees. They are also an awful company to their clients, if I had a dime for every client who tearfully told me that their calls are never answered, often caregivers just never show up and the clients are not taken care of for days. Management promises these clients that they will cover missed shifts or at the very least they will keep the client up to date about who will be coming to their homes and when. The pay is also terrible for the work. I know most Healthcare jobs pay very little, but these people will promise you so much more. Then you work yourself to death for them and get treated horribly and have nothing to show for it in the end.
