Pros
Flexible schedule; Tips are above average; most co workers are great people.
Cons
I’ve never worked at a place that seems to actively hate its employees as much as Dickies Arena. 1) You will need to be onsite at least 30 mins to an hour before your shift because it takes forever to park, get through security, and navigate to the one and only time clock you are allowed to go to. They will also force you to take the most inconvenient and time-wasting path to get to your assigned area. When your shift is over, yep, you won’t be back in your car until another hour because they want you to go through the same tedious time-wasting path back to your car. 2) You aren’t allowed to have your stuff with you so you have to keep that in a locker. So if you bring stuff with you to your shift, add the time walking to the locker room to the time it takes to get to your shift. 3)Constantly over-scheduling bartenders. 4)The POS system they have is terrible and makes what could be a 5 min transaction turn into a 10 min one. 5) Scheduling is confusing and last minute. You might not know you are working until a couple of days before. 6) Management will change how service works every shift so as a bartender you never know if the shift you’re going to will even make any money. 8) All of the above causes high turnover so just about every shift you are working with a temp or someone new. The few people that have stuck around have to pick up the slack because they are the only ones who know what’s going on.
