Pros
-As a tech, you get a company vehicle with gas card. -There's yearly profit sharing bonus' and RRSP contributions, on top of benefits. - Techs are collaborative - Once you're established, Management will basically leave you alone unless they need you to do something specific, or you royally screw up. -Occasional merit increases.
Cons
- Morale is low due to short staffing and a failure to maintain the wage balance with cost of living. - Merit increases not tied to inflation. - Upper management is incompetent, and any attempt to deal with them re: staff issues is met with poor leadership, management doublespeak, and endless stalling tactics. - Parts replenishment is chaotic and disorganized. - Company phones are heavily locked down - Training is poor and rushed, reliant on senior techs to fill in the blanks. - Benefits are delivered through an underwriter who will nickel and dime you wherever possible. - Inter-company communication is poor, with departments being run like fiefdoms. I once watched 4 departments argue who should pay a $50 shipping charge.
