1. The company frequently required overtime and expected software development engineers (SDEs) to handle customer service tasks, even during early morning shifts starting at 6am. This additional responsibility didn't offer any benefits, and failure to address customer inquiries within 15 minutes often resulted in overtime punishment, without any overtime pay, 2. The salary offered by the company was already low, and recently they implemented a significant reduction of around 25% in everyone's base pay. As a result, the final compensation wasn't substantially different from companies like ICC. Unfortunately, alternative opportunities for SDE roles are limited in the current market, which restricts options for individuals seeking better compensation. This is quite manipulative and abusive from management. 3. The company lacks comprehensive benefits; the insurance coverage is inadequate, there's no 401(k) matching program, and employees are only granted five days of annual leave. This lack of support is quite disappointing. 4. The company's work environment reflects a toxic culture with a management style that can be moody. Employees occasionally find themselves performing non-work-related tasks, such as assisting management with personal chores like gardening at their homes. This is unprofessional and contributes to an uncomfortable workplace atmosphere. 5. The company's cryptocurrency exchange business raises concerns due to questionable practices. They have a meager number of daily active users, and it appears that they actively ban customers who are successful in profiting from the exchange, using various excuses. 6. The managerial team, including the SDE manager and those in other departments like quant research, lack adequate experience and often display a lack of knowledge in their areas of expertise. It's disheartening to see below-average new graduates from U.S. MFE programs with no experience and industry knowledge being promoted as portfolio managers in a desperate attempt to secure funding. However, their strategies consistently result in losses, to the point where it becomes more profitable to take the opposite positions. The managers lack the necessary skills and vision to effectively lead their teams. 7. They will make you fake promises when hiring you, but it is all vague and brainwashing.

No pros, except for location (Irvine is nice and safe)

1. Toxic Manager without any boundry. Poor company management. The US manager will ask you to weed for his own house, even sometimes on weekends. They do not know how to how to retain talent people. Hire New Grads with low pay but expected you to be 5-yr+ experienced worker, if not meet their expectations, you will be fired. 2. Poor compensation. 5 day PTO with suprised income 25% cut. The company has chinese division, and the way they make it equal between US Dept and Chinese Dept is to cut the benefit in the US Dept. 3. Laid off people willingly. No signal. The CEO just lay off people he doesn't like. Discriminate people simply because manager likes/dislikes you. 4. SDE team and Quant Research team all need to do some customer service on call. Begin at 6 AM. No additional compensation. Punishment will incur if you do not respond timely. Totally waste of time if you want to learn something. No work-life balance at all. DO NOT EVER JOIN this company, you will be regretted! They promises much but give less.
