Pros
I liked my coworkers and immediate supervisor.
Cons
CFTC hated Digicon and Digicon hated their employees. The manager above the the project manager said that their goal was for everyone to get certified. The plan was for the supervisor and the PM to help with career development. They chose an online vendor but management never had time to approve any courses. The federal side of the house not only wanted an IT solution provider but a scapegoat. Someone that will bare the blame of all that goes wrong. The federal IT specialists can let their ticket go stale but that is ignored. Churn was very high and everyone was worried about losing their jobs for making the wrong person mad. IT contractors outside the helpdesk were cut throat. They tried to get the helpdesk in trouble to gain points with the feds (in hopes they could cross sides). Promotions were limited and coworkers that accepted a higher position didn't get a bump in their pay for several months. When they asked management about the delay they were just told to be patience despite significantly increasing their workload.
