Pros

What this company accomplished in its first 10 years is impressive. There are many good people working in the company. The stated intent of the company to promote ethical AI is commendable. There are select individuals in non-executive positions that are top-of-class in their profession. Work-life balance is generally positive. The opportunity to learn for self-starters is significant.

Cons

There are key people in positions of leadership whose insecurity, low emotional intelligence, and political maneuverings pose significant obstacles to the company actualizing its mission. There continues to be a high rate of turnover. There is subtle evidence of inequity. There is underlying resentment regarding paying market-based salaries for technology staff. While the stated core values are admirable, the commitment to operate according to those values is inconsistent. The first-mover advantage achieved by the company will likely evaporate as competitors are able to attract and retain top talent, foster a culture of excellence, and execute at advanced levels of efficiency and effectiveness.

Pros

The company's mission is admirable - doing AI the Right Way to transform healthcare for the better. Initially, culture seemed great, Benefits include unlimited PTO, which is nice.

Cons

In the few years that I was there, the company did two rounds of layoffs. After the initial round, they had a meeting saying that they didn't see any more layoffs in the future; however, within one year they laid off nearly half the company. Also, in between the two rounds of layoffs, the CEO left the company. Following his departure, there was a companywide meeting to let everyone know that "everything was fine." So, if you do work here, I would be aware that what you're being told may not be an accurate depiction of what is actually happening.
