Pros
Great company for energetic young staff seeking experience and a range of projects. For those who enjoy working in a fast paced environment, Dillon is the perfect setting enabling them to quickly gain experience and develop skills. Those interested in working with a diversity of communities, with different sectors, and in different geographies will have great potential and exposure to work in a variety of settings. Company rewards go-getters. Staff who are not Associate or Partners get overtime or time in lieu.
Cons
During slow periods, stress is high as staff can be let go at a moments notice. Much of the work is carried by staff, but management gets all the credit and glory. Those younger staff who aspire to be Associates and Partners are dazzled by the glory of title and bonuses. Associates and Partners are pressured to purchase thousands of dollars per year in company shares. Decisions are controlled by a select few. There is a lack of mentoring between older partners and other staff. Staff are left to fend for themselves, and depending on who the Partner is on the project, could be thrown under the bus to take blame for projects gone wrong. Customer is always right no matter, even if it is the clients who make mistakes. This is hard for staff as there is no team solidarity and project managers do not support them when things go bad.
