Narrow-minded management focuses too much on metrics - Anonymous Employee Dineline Employee Review

Pros

My coworkers have been great to work with, but I can’t say the same thing about my experience with Dineline. I’ve been stressed, exhausted, and burnt out ever since I started working here, and I wouldn’t say the effort is worth it because of how unrewarding my job is as well. If you’re considering applying for a position here, I would suggest looking for other opportunities instead.

Cons

Management cares about metrics above everything else. They couldn’t care less about your well-being; they push employees past their limits and force them to work long hours, assign them brutal workloads, and set unrealistic expectations for them to meet. What makes things even more frustrating is how incompetent and narrow-minded they are; they believe that employees who work longer = more work getting done, which simply isn’t true. I’ve seen a lot of talented and hardworking coworkers be ignored, unrewarded, and even reprimanded at times, simply because they didn’t push themselves to work long hours, even if they’ve done more work than anyone else.

Pros

If I had to pick something, the onboarding process was fast.

Cons

When I got hired, they laid out this whole compensation plan with commission and bonuses that made it sound really achievable, which honestly looked good on paper. Within the first month they walked it back — not exactly the same structure, different metrics, way harder to hit, which honestly gets old when you're already scrambling. They also promised I'd have support from the senior team to help me build a client base, but everyone was too busy or understaffed or didn't care, doesn't matter which. The whole vibe shifted from "we're building something" to "figure it out yourself" pretty fast. I went in thinking this was a real opportunity, left thinking they just needed bodies to fill seats.

Thank you for taking the time to share this feedback. We take reviews like yours seriously, and the experience you describe isn't the one we want any team member to have. You raise two specific concerns: a compensation structure that changed shortly after you were hired, and a lack of the senior-team support you were promised to help build your client base. Both are fair things to hold us accountable for. Changes to a comp plan, especially early in someone's tenure, should be communicated clearly and with context, and the onboarding support we describe during hiring needs to actually materialize. If we fell short on either, that's on us to fix. We'd genuinely like to understand more about what happened so we can address it, both for current employees and for how we set expectations with new hires. If you're open to it, please reach out to us at hr@dineline.co so we can talk further. Regardless, we wish you well in your next role, and we appreciate you giving us an honest account of where we missed the mark.
