Pros
The compensation was adequate, and I was let go before that place did any more damage to my physical and mental well-being.
Cons
I want to preface this by saying that I acknowledge it is easy to leave a negative review after being dismissed by a company, but I am not upset; quite the contrary, in fact, I am relieved. I spent a year at DirectShifts and found the organization poorly led with a subpar product in a saturated market. This was the worst professional experience I've ever had. Here are a few reasons why: Mismanagement: The chaotic organizational structure, micromanagement from senior leadership, and frequent strategy changes. Inadequate Onboarding: The lack of structured onboarding and training extended ramp-up time and made finding answers to simple questions difficult. Unrealistic Expectations: The workload was heavy with unrealistic deliverable expectations, constant pressure to over-perform, and no appreciation or resources provided. Lack of Support: Management was indifferent, dismissive, and often disrespectful, leaving me feeling demoralized and undervalued. Negative Culture: The work environment lacked camaraderie, trust, and respect among employees.
