Pros
From a technical perspective the team is full of all-stars and continues to hire massive talent. It's what got me into the door at Discord, but what is going to keep me here is the attention, care, and focus towards building an organization centered around people. Leadership invests heavily in mental health, leads with empathy, and empowers everyone to reach a little bit out of their comfort zone, grow, and get it done. There's no ceiling on making an impact at the company, regardless of level.
Cons
Just like any other successful startup of our size, everyday we are stepping into new territory. In these times, we are all iterating and improving how we communicate, organize, and grow and effective organization. During this process, things are very dynamic which can be hard for some people. At Discord you are expected to influence change and have a voice in the conversation. This may not be the right environment for some.
