Pros

I tried to think of something good but there really isn't.

Cons

Took the job over the phone as I was moving from Seattle to Ohio. Was told I'd be designing but was tossed into development on my first day. Right off the bat, I started seeing the shady nature of this beast. No one knows how to create, ship, or design products. They read Medium articles and think they know from that. Just look at their product and you can see what I mean. It's 2020 and they are just now trying to be agile. There is no team or product culture, no innovation, and no experience when it comes to creating great software products. Even with my experience, I was treated as if I didn't know anything. With 11 years at Microsoft and working for other companies that had larger and more complex applications, they could have tapped into some valuable feedback and suggestions but never did. They think they know everything but any experienced person will see that's not the case. The owner is cheap so expect to supply everything. He won't invest in the product or employees so if you choose to work there, have fun with that. After designing their app, I was called in, out of the blue and with no warning, and told that I was being let go because the company was changing direction. When I went on unemployment, to my shock, I was told that I was fired for not doing my job. The odd thing here is that I gave them a design and just around that time, they hired a UI Developer who started around the time they let me go. Even the unemployment agency researched and concluded that I was let go without just cause. The good news is that not long after leaving, I got my first "real job" in Ohio and I'm not making double (normal pay) of what I was making there. I do take responsibility for jumping into a job and learned a lot through this process. Just be cautious about what this company offers and make sure you are being fairly compensated for your work.

Hi, Wow - that's quite an experience. Sorry you had to go through it. However, you have never worked with us. Did you mean to leave the review for another organization? I appealed to Glassdoor some time back to at least moderate the review, as it doesn't apply to us. It seems they are not keen to moderate ANY reviews. We have had that experience in the past as well - when a group of people (students, at that) decided to malign our reputation. Thank you for your cooperation and all the best for future endeavors!
