Pros
I learned what a poorly run hotel looks like so I don't make the same mistakes now that I'm in a management role myself.
Cons
During my time there I was refused breaks. This includes bathroom breaks as well as meal breaks. When I asked for desk coverage I was told someone would be out soon, but no one ever came. When I left the desk unattended, management would be furious, despite refusing to cover the desk. Many employees there used hard drugs and no one in management seemed to care. When I interviewed I inquired about Holiday Pay and the manager laughed and said I wouldn't find Holiday Pay anywhere in the hotel industry. This was an obvious lie, as many hospitality companies offer Holiday Pay. Finally, they failed to post all open positions for the property, and hired someone new without posting the job anywhere, even online, preventing any existing employees from moving up.
