Pros

good relationships with coworkers, most management

Cons

low pay with unreasonable expectations. Minimal staffing to the detriment of both staff and customers. Many smaller stores have no stocking team, all cashiers are expected to stock. You are expected to achieve 1 box per 2 minutes, regardless of size, dept, customer flow, and interruptions. all employees that are not actively management are paid minimum wage, and do not accrue vacation or sick time regardless of time spent with the company. health insurance is actually pretty good for the cost, but also the lowest version (which you have to wait a year to get) is 100/month, and when you're making minimum (texas is 7.35/hr) at 15 hours a week (or less) You're only making 110.75/week before taxes. Like, seriously? How are you supposed to make ends meet? And upper management is terrible about you having another job to make up for it - They are always minimally staffed, and want you to be available to pick up a shift at a moment's notice. If you don't, district and regional will tell you to phase the employee out without firing them, by giving them even fewer hours until they "reidentify their priorities" - with the idea being to make dollar tree your first and only priority. Uniforms are specifically a green collared polo shirt, and no blue jeans, any deviation is a possible (recommended) write up. The shirts are not provided, and the ones that are available for purchase are upwards of 25$ a piece! So, A quarter of your weekly paycheck to buy a single shirt. The turnover is MASSIVE. Understandably so. act your wage everyone

Cons

We are sometimes challenged with outdated technology. However, we are updating systems currently. We have also had a turnover in the C-suite leadership.

Pros

I enjoyed working at Dollar Tree because it allowed me to lead a team, help develop associates, and make a difference in my store. I liked the fast-paced environment and the variety of challenges that came with running daily operations. The experience helped me grow as a manager, strengthen my problem-solving skills, and build great relationships with both my team and customers.

Cons

The biggest challenges were limited staffing, heavy workloads, and a lack of support from the district level when issues arose. PTO requests were often denied due to business needs, which made it difficult to achieve a good work-life balance. While these challenges could be frustrating at times.
