Pros
- Training is provided, so any STEM graduates can join and get into programming - Majority of staff are very personable - Lots of social activities and clubs, although most need to be arranged by staff - No overtime required, Flexi-time available once probation finished - Regular promotions and pay rises, especially in first few years - Exposed to lots of different technologies
Cons
- Travel can be required, and this is done in employees own time - Lack of control in where and what you will be working on. You can ask to do something but it is not guaranteed - Inter-company communication can be slow - Good chance you will become Jack of all trades, master of none when it comes to technologies (this could be a pro for some) - I haven't heard a good word about the mandatory apprenticeship for new starters
