I have very much enjoyed working at Dotster. My coworkers are awesome and management tends to go out of their way to do the right thing most of the time. Of all the places I have worked this is probably the best work atmosphere I've ever been in!
Cons
Dotster hires chat agents on as temps, which is not a bad thing, but they are super slow in converting you over to full time employees... Been there six months now and still waiting for the final "go".
Smart co-workers who for the most part know what their doing. Great location. Decent hourly wage
Cons
Long hold times which equals angry customers there are never enough tech support agents to field the amount of calls they're receiving and it's not because their product sucks it's because they have a lot of customers and a very SMALL support staff. Upper management does not listen to it's support team and take into consideration ideas or even solutions that they might have for the issues even though tech support is on the front lines and knows more then anyone what is really going on with their product and the overall satisfaction of their customers. Money comes before quality, tech support agents are treated as if they're supposed to just do the job and be quiet. Work hard and keep your head down. This is how it was 3-4 years ago.. I can not comment on how it is now but I still have a couple friends who work there and I have not heard that it's totally changed or anything so I have to assume it's either worse or better. I heard they only hire temps now so they don't have to pay for benefits. Cheap bastards.
